Popsicle Party & Start of School Information

Monday, August 24:  All required forms due

Tuesday, September 1:  Preschool parent orientation meeting, 6pm in the gym  This will be a time to meet the teachers, receive an overview of the Preschool curriculum and school policies. One parent per family MUST be in attendance (please note, this is for Parents only and children should not attend). If your child has any medications that will be kept in the nurse’s office (i.e. inhalers/EpiPen), please bring these items, as well as the corresponding paperwork from their doctors to this meeting.

Wednesday, September 2:   PreK Popsicle Playdate for parents and students, 4:30pm-5:30pm. See information below (Note: this has been sent out under separate cover to all PreK families). Please make sure you send us your RSVP by August 28 to admissions@stmarybethelct.org

Thursday, September 3:   First day of school, PK3 & PK4 with early dismissal at 11:15am for ALL preK classes.

Friday, September 4:  11:15am dismissal for ALL PreK

Tuesday, September 8: ALL PreK students begin normal dismissal schedule that was selected upon enrolling (Half day 12pm/Full day 2pm).

BeforeCare/AfterCare: begin on Tuesday, September 8.  Registration must be completed prior to using Before and/or Aftercare.

Daily Arrival: 8:50am - 9:00am

• PreK3 students will be dropped off at the FRONT preschool door 

• PreK4 students will be dropped off at the REAR preschool door (school playground) (please be mindful and drive very slowly around the school building).

PreK doors close promptly at 9am in order for their day to begin; any PreK student arrivals after doors close at 9am need to be brought to the main entrance of the school.

**It is very important that parents understand the importance of getting your child to school on time each day.  A late arrival puts stress on your child to get their school day started and acclimate to their day calmly.  By 9:10am the teacher has already started the day with circle time or free play, or sometimes a special activity such as art or gym class.  It is disruptive to the teachers and other students when children arrive late, and upsetting to that child who may have missed out on the start of the morning.
