Financial Assistance

Choosing a Catholic school is an investment in your child’s future. We are committed to ensuring that an outstanding Catholic education is accessible to as many families as possible.

We believe that the cost of tuition should not prevent families from considering St. Mary School.  Funding for K - 8 students is available from the Bishop’s Scholarship Fund (BSF) and the Tuition Assistance Committee (TAC). Awards are need-based. All applicants must complete the online FACTS Grant & Aid assessment.

Bishop’s Scholarship Fund (BSF) - Diocesan Level - Grades K -8

Beginning on 2/1/2026, families of students in grades K - 8 may apply for the Bishop’s Scholarship Fund which is administered by Foundations in Education.

The deadline to apply for BSF is March 15 for current families; and April 15 for new families (new families will still be considered after this date should funds be available). Applications are evaluated and determinations are made by the Bishop’s Scholarship Fund Committee. Award notifications are – early May for current families, late May for new families. Awardees’ families are notified through FACTS and scholarship distributions are made directly to the school on behalf of the successful scholarship applicant.

You will need to complete a FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment*.  Please log into your account if you already have one, or create an account if you are new to St. Mary https://online.factsmgt.com

You will be instructed to upload your 2024 tax return and your 2025 W-2s (if your 2025 tax return is available, and is a more accurate reflection of your financial situation, you may upload that instead).

If you are self-employed, you will need to submit your 2025 tax return.

Please note, you may be asked for additional tax schedules. All requested documents must be uploaded for your application to be considered complete. Award notification are sent to current families in early May and late May for new families.  Incomplete applications will not be considered for assistance.

Tuition Assistance Committee (TAC) - School Level - Grades K - 8

In addition to the Bishop’s Scholarship Fund, St. Mary School also offers limited assistance through TAC, our Tuition Assistance Committee, for families who are not eligible to receive BSF, or who do not receive enough funding from BSF.  This application process occurs in late May, and requires a 1page application to St. Mary School. No family will be considered for TAC who has not submitted a complete application to BSF by the required deadline.

* In addition to the Grant & Aid Financial Needs Assessment, FACTS also manages the Tuition Payment Plans for all Diocese of Bridgeport Schools.  Families enrolling at St. Mary School will need to set up a Tuition Payment Plan online with FACTS in order for registration to be considered complete.
